Neem
Azadirachta indica (Meliaceae); also known as margosa; large evergreen tree, neem has important place in Indian culture and society, valued all over the world for its medicinal and insecticidal properties mainly due to azadirachtin; grows wils in tropical areas; found throughout plains; can be propagated through seeds during July-August; all parts of the plant (leaves seed, bark, flower oil etc) are useful; plant contains diterpenes, triterpenes, steroids, limonoids, flavonols; traditionally used in skin diseases, diabetes, fever, rheumatism, etc.
